On the previous post I showed you how to extend the range of your hotspot with LAN ports on CoovaAP, now I’m going to explain for all of you EasyHotspot nano DD-WRT users how to enable your LAN ports on your router to have Hotspot capabilities.
Step 1:
Connect your computer with LAN cable to one of your LAN ports on the router, then access the router admin page by typing 192.168.10.1 on the browser address bar.
Step 2:
Go to “Setup” -> “Basic setup” -> Network Address Server Settings (DHCP) -> change “DHCP Server” to DISABLE, then click “Save” button bellow (DO NOT apply settings just yet)
Step 3:
Next go to “Services” tab -> “HotSpot” tab -> on Chillispot settings change “Separate WiFi from The Lan Bridge” to DISABLE. Then on the same page (Chillispot settings) change “DHCP Interface” to “LAN“, now you can click “Save” and then “Apply Settings”.
Your router should Apply the settings and reboot. Now you have enabled Hotspot on your LAN ports, you can now connect an AP to the LAN port to extend your Hotspot range. To use the new settings, you have to renew DHCP on your computer or unplug and plugin the LAN cable again.
Note: To access your Routers Admin page form LAN, go to the new address from DHCP at 192.168.182.1
